FAQ
Q: What if I'm having a transfer done through you? Do I have to let you know first? How does it work?
A: You typically will not have to let us know unless it is specified by the person or FFL sending the item. Standard firearm transfers involve a government issued ID, a completed 4473, background check and $30. Handguns and certain semi-automatic firearms also require a valid State issued ID and permit to purchase or carry.
Q: How does the process of buying/transferring a suppressor or NFA item work? Do I need a permit?
A: You do not need a permit for suppressors, but you may need one for all full-auto and certain semi-auto NFA items. First, you select and purchase/transfer the NFA item. Once it has been received/purchased (we have a serial number for the transfer), we need a digital 2X2 photo as well as digital fingerprints to complete the Form 4 transfer paperwork. You will also need to register for an eForms account and save the information (email address, PIN number, username). Once we have all of the necessary information, we will complete the form 4 together to avoid any headaches and errors that can cause a disapproval. Standard individual transfers usually take a week or less for approvals. Transfers to a trust can take as long as 4 weeks. Once we receive an approval email from the ATF, a simple 4473 needs to be completed (no background check) and then you can take the item off premises. At that time, the $100 transfer fee is due if the item wasn't purchased from us. If it was, the transfer is free!!!
Q: Do you provide training or classes?
A: We do! We offer monthly Permit to Carry classes and once a year MN DNR Firearm & Hunter Safety in August. We also provide our Sunday "Range Days" for customers. These "Range Days" utilize our private range in Castle Rock. Our range days are free for customers and has a distance up to 200 yds. We can provide up to 800 yds for qualified customers. These are limited space events. We also provide a once a year LADIES ONLY range day where it is about education as well as training.
Q: Do you have an indoor range?
A: We do not currently have an indoor range on site but it is in our future plans.

kQ: With your hours, how do you accept packages sent for transfer?
A: We usually always have someone available onsite to accept packages, even during "closed" hours. In other cases we usually have arrangements to securely accept the packages.
Q:Will I pass a background check?
A: This is an actual question we've received. This question has a lot of facets as federal laws and state laws differ dramatically in some cases. For one, state marijuana laws do NOT apply federally so it is illegal to be a user of marijuana and purchase firearms federally. Crimes of violence also differ by definition as some gross misdemeanor drug offenses may void your rights if originally charged with a felony. Almost all felonies will void your right to purchase and possess firearms unless you've had your rights restored by a court of law. It is your due diligence to know this. Some folks will get a denial and have done nothing wrong due to a similar name or a clerical error. This is where a UPIN comes into play.
Q: What is a UPIN?
A: UPIN's are necessary when you've been denied a purchase via the federal background check and have no criminal history. It stands for Unique Personal Identification Number. If you need one of these UPIN's, you need to reach out to your local FBI field office and request to get a UPIN. This involves fingerprints and a 2X2 photo as well as an application.
Q: Do I need to input my social security number on the 4473?
A: A SSN is not required for the 4473 paperwork, but we do recommend filling it in to help avoid any delays or improper denials.
Q: Do you buy, trade and/or consign guns and ammo?
A: Yes, we do! Our standard consignment fee is 20% from $1,000 to $5,000, 15% from $5,000 to $10,000, and over $10,000 is 10%. We purchase items based on a used True Gun Value report. Once we have a value, we offer 40%-60% of the value based on re-saleability. We usually offer about 25% of ammo value for purchases.
Q: Do you offer "Red Flag Law" storage? Storage for vulnerable persons?
A: We do! We are committed to doing everything we can to help keep people safe when it comes to firearms. If you or someone you know needs safe, legal storage, we can provide it.
